We welcome large groups, too. In this house, we can accept up to 10 to 40 guests. Kyoto Samurai House, a 300-year-old samurai residence, there is only one toilet outside the house, please use the restroom before coming here. We have provided services to many groups of customers, including tea ceremony experiences, kimono, and sake tasting. Our aim is to ensure that you are completely satisfied and to become one of your unforgettable memories in Japan. Experience the rich culture and traditions of Kyoto at this historic samurai residence, offered in several languages.

We live upstair in this house with 4 years old son.(very naughty boy).
And sometime he comes down and run aroud 1st floor.

Tea Ceremony & Sake
for 10 to15 people
Experience the serenity of a traditional tea ceremony. Have a short Zen meditation(3mins) before the tea ceremony in hiroma (hall). We serve organic matcha from Uji,Kyoto. After the tea ceremony, you can enjoy 3 kinds of sake or making matcha by yourself. Please contact us for group over 21 people.
Tea Ceremony & Zen
for10 to 15 people
The spirit of Zen has a strong influence on Japanese spirituality. We will share the way of practicing Zazen(Zen meditation). Guests will first have 15 minutes for Zen meditation, and after that experience the traditonal tea ceremony in the hiroma(hall). Please contact us for group over 21 people.
Tea Ceremony & Kimono
for 10 to 20 people

Flower Arrangement
with Kimono
Flower arrangement experience including kimono dressing. All explanations will be in English such as the history of flower arranging and how to arrange it. At the end, you can take memorable photos inside the house with the flowers you have arranged. and you can enjoy taking photogenic pictures with the traditional wedding Kimono (Ladies only) and samurai sword in the house.We accept 10 to 20 people.
Sake Tasting
Sake and Japanese Whisky
Sake tasting (10 -12 shots of sake) and 3 kinds of Japanese Whisky (Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushuu, etc) Experience the unique flavours of Japan's signature rice wine - sake or Nihonshu. We offers a variey of authentic, locally brewed sake from different regions of Japan. Unlock the secrets of sake with English explanantions. Reservations minimum 10 to 20 people.
Traditional Dance
with Kimono
Experience Japanese traditonal dancing with a Kimono or Yukata. After the experience, you will be able to dance a song. At the end, you may also record a video of you dancing with your phone. All explanations will be in English. Lastly, enjoy a cup of matcha and taking photos inside the house. You can enjoy taking photogenic pictures with the traditional wedding Kimono (Ladies only) and samurai sword in the house. Reservations minimum 10 to 20 people.

For groups over 10 people* Tea ceremony experience in the traditional Japanese room hiroma(hall) which you can see the Japanese garden. The guests will meditate for 3 minutes in a hiroma. Afterthat, the tea ceremony will be performed in the hiroma. We serve organic matcha from Uji, Kyoto. After the tea ceremony, Wemay show the guests a traditional Japanese dance. This group plan does not include sake tasting or making matcha.
If there are more than 20 people, the experience will be held at another nearby venue. These are also authentic tea rooms and halls where you can see the Japanese garden.

*50% of your total amount will be charged if you cancel 1 day prior.
*100% of your total amount will be charged if you cancel on your scheduled arrival date day or no show.
